The Australian Shepherd Breed, part of the Herding Group, originated in the United States! So how did it get its name? Many speculate that the name came from Australian sheep, which the dogs herded, sent by boat to the Western US after the 1849 Gold Rush. These dogs are great to have around, they love to serve as herders, search and rescue and therapy dogs. They also love to play ball for Hours! (I know from experience!)
The Australian Shepherd sock starts with a Bright White background and has below the cuff in bold print, "Australian Shepherd". Then the sock repeats the Australian Shepherd dog in a Stance Pose around the sock to the Toe. The colors used for this breed are Tan, Black, White, Light Gray and a Blue Gray. Another way to call this is Blue Merle.
